DENVER (CBS4) – Gabe Landeskog remains in Colorado. The Avs captain agreed to an eight-year contract that, according to multiple reports, earns him $ 7 million a year.
The deal was first reported by SportsNet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Landeskog was supposed to be an unreserved free agent on Wednesday, but the deal will secure his future as the Avs captain and face of the franchise.

The deal comes just days after the Avs agreed to a six-year deal with Cale Makar.

The next thing on the Avs checklist is trying to secure a deal with goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer, who is also supposed to become an unrestricted free agent.
