Battle between American Airways passenger and flight attendants leads to flight being diverted to Denver Worldwide Airport – CBS Denver
DENVER (CBS4) – A reported battle between a passenger and a flight attendant resulted in an American Airlines flight from New York (JFK) to Santa Ana (SNA) being diverted to Denver International Airport. The plane made an emergency landing on Wednesday night.
American Airlines officials confirmed the plane, Flight 976, landed and taxied safely. The passenger was taken into custody by law enforcement agencies.
“We are outraged by the reports on what happened on board. American Airlines will not tolerate acts of violence against our team members. We are working with law enforcement to assist our team member and pursue law enforcement and the person involved in this incident will no longer be allowed to travel with us in the future, “American Airlines officials said in a statement to CBS Los Angeles.
The flight attendant who suffered the attack was taken to a local hospital, reports CBS Los Angeles.
According to flightaware.com, the flight landed in DIA at around 6:30 p.m. It is not clear when the flight will resume.

As of October 26, the FAA had recorded 4,941 recalcitrant reports since January 1, 2021. More than 215 cases ended with penalties.
