College of Colorado, Denver: Nationwide Prep Month: Campus Occasions Educate Resilience Abilities
As part of National Preparedness Month, the CU Denver Emergency Management Division (EMD) is hosting a month-long series of community events and courses in September. National Preparedness Month aims to raise awareness of the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that can occur at any time, both on and off campus.
“Our goal is to empower students, faculty, and staff by providing the tools, resources, and training that will have a real impact on the resilience of our campus,” said Garrey Martinez, emergency manager for the Emergency Management Division at CU Denver. “National Preparedness Month is a great opportunity for our campus members to get involved in emergency preparedness and safety, and we look forward to being part of this effort to welcome everyone back to campus for the fall semester of 2021.”
The CU Denver EMD provides emergency preparedness guidance and support for the downtown Denver campus and Anschutz Medical Campus. By working together and coordinating with all students, lecturers, employees, visitors and external partners, the department constantly strives to create a culture of readiness for the campus community.
