Fair pay drives US women’s soccer documentation
Fans of football stars Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan will find it worthwhile visiting Colorado Springs this weekend to see “LFG”, a documentary film about the wage discrimination dispute between the US women’s national team and the US football association.
“LFG”, an acronym for “Let’s (Expletive) Go”, is used as part of the Rocky Mountain women’s film Summer drive-in series. Women’s team lawyers filed a lawsuit against the USSF in 2019, alleging wage discrimination. A California judge dismissed the lawsuit in May 2020, but the players appealed last month while the team was playing at the Tokyo Olympics.
Demonstrations take place in the former Newspaper building east of downtown Colorado Springs on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21.
