FINDLAY – Denver Junior Zimmerly, 83, died at Blanchard Valley Hospital on Sunday, November 29, 2020 of complications from COVID 19. He was born on April 28, 1937 to Denver and Olive (Schumacher) Zimmerly in Toledo, Ohio, born. He grew up in Bluffton, Ohio and graduated from Bluffton High School. He started working at Ohio Power (AEP) and continued to work there until he retired.
He married Barbara Katterheinrich on April 2, 1960 and she survived. In 2020 they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Two daughters are surviving: Amber (Tom) Leiner from McComb and Lisa (Tim) Ervin from Findlay; three grandchildren: Tyler (Jennifer) Leiner from Findlay, Alex (Shelby) Ervin from Indianapolis, IN, and Tessa Ervin from Findlay; and two great-grandchildren, Aliza and Isla Leiner.
He also leaves a sister, Kay (Owen) Ziessler from Bluffton. He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Lynn Zimmerly and Larry (Shirley) Zimmerly, and a sister Ann (Robert) Badertscher.
There is a private funeral service. The arrangements are handled by Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home.
