Public health director Tom Gonzales says the order will be issued “due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on the capacity of the local hospital intensive care unit.”

Currently, Boulder is the only county in Colorado’s Front Range that has such a health regime. Boulder’s has been in effect since the beginning of September.

County officials said that interior fixtures in Larimer County, where everyone in attendance has been fully vaccinated, will be granted exemptions from the mandate. They wrote the following in a press release, saying that more information will be provided at a later date:

Institutions in the district of Larimer that want to introduce mandatory vaccination guidelines for employees, guests and guests have the opportunity to apply as an approved vaccine-verified company and be exempted from masking requirements with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Environment of the district of Larimer.
