Minimal flooding in East Troublesome and Cameron Peak burn scars throughout weekend storms – CBS Denver
(CBS4) Flash floods are a real threat to scars from a forest fire, and our weekend rains kept many across the state on the alert. Rain fell over the scars of the Cameron Peak Fire and East Troublesome Fire, but luckily it was pretty light and didn’t fall as quickly.
A temporary flood warning was issued on Sunday for part of the Cameron Peak Fire Zone due to rapid water flows, but no major flooding has been reported.

It could look different the next time it rains. The town of Grand Lake is just beneath the scars of the East Troublesome Fire, and residents packed thousands of sandbags in May to protect their homes just in case.
