NHRA has announced that Pennzoil’s Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals will be held at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colorado August 7-9 and the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota, August 14-16 August) have been postponed until further notice due to pandemic-related reasons. NHRA also announced the new NHRA Indy Nationals at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis from August 6-9. Qualifications for the new Indy event will air on FS1 and the final eliminations will air on the FOX broadcast network. The NHRA Indy Nationals features an extravaganza of professional and athletic races with limited viewers per Indiana guidelines for four days.

The Bandimere family, owners of Bandimere Speedway, home of the Dodge Mile-High Nationals, stated: “Given our longstanding relationship not only with the NHRA and our sponsor Chrysler / Mopar / Dodge Mile-High Nationals, but also with all of the drivers, fans and fans additional sponsors who support our event, we aim to find a date for this year’s event. We realize that by postponing the event we have a much greater chance of having an event with more flexibility for everyone and we look forward to some amazing racing action. “

“We are disappointed to have to postpone our event,” said Kristi Copham, owner of the Brainerd International Raceway race later this season, especially to our fans who deserve to enjoy a great weekend with NHRA Drag Racing. We appreciate the patience of everyone – our fans, salespeople, staff, and racing teams – as we try to resolve the issues that would allow us to hold the event, and we continue to work hard on it every day. “

The rest of the 2020 NHRA schedule remains unchanged, but may change due to state and local guidelines.

“NHRA has worked to create protocols for a responsible restart of the sport,” said Glen Cromwell, President of NHRA. “We saw these protocols work last weekend at the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals. We appreciate the support from the State of Indiana, our drivers, teams, employees and fans as we all work together to move forward. “
