“Police Exercise” Closes I-70 in Eisenhower Tunnels – CBS Denver Fully

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colorado (CBS4) – Interstate 70 was closed on Saturday afternoon for “police activity” near the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnel. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the incident is being investigated on the west side of the tunnels, but both directions are closed.

CSP tells CBS4 that they have received a report of an “incendiary device” in a Kia SUV, but investigators are currently investigating the matter.

According to the CSP, people have spoken to someone connected to the 911 vehicle.

According to the CSP, drivers heading west can alternatively use Highway 6 via Loveland Pass. Drivers heading east currently have no alternative.
