SUMMIT COUNTY, Colorado (CBS4) – Quandary Peak was by far the most hiked 14er in Colorado in 2020, according to data from the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative. The group’s new report says the number of people climbing Colorado’s famous peaks has increased by 44% to 415,000 days of hiking.
Colorado recorded 288,000 days of hiking in 2019, less than 353,000 in 2018 due to an unusually active avalanche season.

Summit County Rescue Group says having the most popular 14 in the state isn’t necessarily a good thing. They say they had 18 cries for help at their peak, compared to the 15 cries for help they had so far this year.
