DENVER (CBS4) – Football fans traveling to Empower Field on Sundays must plan their trip this NFL season without a BroncosRide.

The Broncos and the Regional Transportation District (RTD) announced Monday that service will continue to be suspended this fall. RTD launched a pandemic service plan in April 2020. Service has been limited by a drop in passenger numbers and a shortage of drivers.
“The Pandemic Service Plan,” RTD’s Tina Vasquez told CBS4, “prioritizes mobility for key workers and communities where passenger numbers are high and the service is most needed. As we recover from COVID-19, other services will be considered. Currently, due to our limited resources, we have chosen not to use BroncosRide again as there are regular bus and train options to reach Empower Field at Mile High. “
BroncosRide has carried an average of 6,700 passengers per game over the past 10 years, according to a Broncos spokesperson.
“While we are disappointed that BroncosRide will not be available to fans,” said Jon Applegate, Broncos Director of Events & Booking on Monday, “we are encouraged by discussions with RTD that their rail service is expanded – similar to the one they did MLB All held in the city – Star Week – provides reliable means of transport on match days. We look forward to welcoming all of our fans back and encourage them to plan ahead before each game. “
Fans are encouraged to use the existing bus routes and light rail on match days. The light rail will have a slightly increased capacity.
For the first time ever, the Broncos are dedicating a parking lot for car pooling. Vehicles with four or more passengers can park in Lot A for $ 30 per game.
“In order to maximize the available space for the fans, it is not allowed to drive into the car pool parking lot,” said the team.
