On Thursday, the CDC said fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask indoors or outdoors or stay 6 feet apart in most settings. Social distancing guidelines continue to be enforced in Colorado as part of the Mask Mandate. However, it is unclear how this should be interpreted in light of the revision by the governor’s office on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The state mandate, which was in effect before Thursday, called for face masks or covers to be used indoors unless 80% of people are vaccinated. On May 3rd, Polis amended and expanded the ordinance on face covering. It is unclear when an official announcement would be made from the governor’s office.
Local governments and businesses may still need masks even if the state doesn’t. Denver didn’t say what it was up to. A total of 47% of Coloradans are now fully vaccinated, and 35% of 16-19 year olds have checked their first dose.
The incident rate across all age groups has decreased in Colorado in the past few weeks. It is highest among middle and high school students.
There is still a federal requirement mandating face masks in places like airports and public transit. This means that travelers at Denver International Airport or on RTD public transit must wear a mask. According to RTD, this also means wearing a mask while waiting for a bus or train. This order is valid until September 13th.
Big news from the CDC: When fully vaccinated, you won’t need to wear a mask in most environments – indoors or outdoors.
